Basic Responsibility

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing
financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing
strategic financial guidance to senior management. The ideal candidate should possess strong
leadership skills, excellent analytical abilities, and extensive knowledge of accounting principles
specific to the heavy machinery industry.

Accountability & Responsibility

Scope of Accountability

  • Interacting with internal and external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax authorities, and
    regulatory bodies;
  • Communicating financial results, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management
    and stakeholders;
  • Providing financial information and support for external reporting and investor relations.

Main Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the
    company’s overall goals and objectives;
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements;
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and
    cost-efficiency;
  • Monitor cash flow, manage budgets, and ensure effective allocation of financial resources;
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and provide timely and accurate financial reports to senior management.

2. Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing financial practices,
    taxation, and reporting;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of accounting standards and ensure adherence to industry best practices;
  • Oversee internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings;
  • Implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

3. Financial Planning and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies aligned with the
    company’s long-term objectives;
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance for strategic decision-making, including investment opportunities and cost-reduction initiatives;
  • Evaluate the financial impact of new projects, acquisitions, and investments;
  • Conduct feasibility studies and financial modelling to assess potential business opportunities.

 

4. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training as necessary;
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth;
  • Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members;
  • Stay updated with industry trends and developments, and ensure the accounting team’s skills and knowledge remain current.

Required Profile

Education

  • Bsc. Accounting or its equivalent.

Experience

  • 5-6 years of professional experience in similar role;

Technical Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role in the heavy machinery industry;
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards;
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting;
  • Proficient in financial management software and ERP systems;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
